Frameworks is a performance ensemble that was created to give opportunities to student, pre- professional and professional dancers in Pittsburgh and the surrounding communities. Here dancers learn to gain a better understanding and awareness of lesser known methodologies in instant composing in performance. They work on creating a larger array of aesthetic qualities, innovating movement choices in performance and understanding the relationships between live and improvised music- dance when composing in real time in public performances.

Frameworks was established in 2013 and in it's first year, quickly gained attention and notoriety receiving a residency at Kelly-Strayhorn Theater's "Next Stage Residency". Frameworks also received an invitation to present at Wesleyan University Governors School for the Arts in West Virginia in July 2014 and consequently in 2015 and 2016 with an ongoing invitation for performance work and master workshops lead by Gia T. The Frameworks ensemble received a standing ovation from students in the theater department in response to the work they presented at Wesleyan University. Frameworks continues to receive invitations to return to Weslyean College Governors School for the Arts and to play throughout Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Critical acclaim

CROSS CURRENTS. Jane Vranish - 3-5-2015
It showed that Gia was skilled in presenting imagery to her company and constructing lush phrases phrases for them. Obviously this would be a viable outlet for more local dancers.  Once again as delightful collaboration with the art installation, this time Erwin Redl’s Speed Shift, where LED lights dotted the walls in random fashion.
